Fourteen people perished in a road accident in Turkana on Saturday night while thirteen others sustained injuries after a lorry they were in landed in a ditch.
Local police said on Sunday the driver of the lorry was trying to avoid hitting a camel at Kakwamunyen area along Lodwar-Kakuma road.

Turkana Central Sub County Police Commander Lemmy Njiru said the injured were rushed to the County Refferal Hospital in Lodwar.
Those who perished included three male adults, eight female adults and three male children.
The accident is reported to have occurred at about 10pm.
