Detectives from the Kilimani Police Station in Nairobi have apprehended two individuals, a daughter and her mother, in connection with a sophisticated fraud operation.
Cynthia Muthoni Kamau and her mother, Rose Wambui Kamau, were arrested last week after being accused of defrauding Kennedy Oketch out of Sh4.5 million. The pair allegedly deceived Oketch by claiming they could import shoes from China for the specified amount.
According to statements made by Oketch to the authorities prior to their arrest, the two women employed deceptive tactics, including the use of trucks, to misappropriate his funds. The suspects are scheduled to appear in court on Thursday, where they will face charges of obtaining money under false pretenses and conspiracy to defraud, actions that are in violation of the law.
