Female lover in Gekomu SDA’ church deacon’s sensational murder to testify against vengeful suitor

The elderly woman at the centre of the sensational killing in a Kisii bar of a church deacon on Easter Sunday night has been set free and would now testify against her vengeful suitor.

Pauline Moraa, 48’s release Friday by a Kisii Court means she heads to the witness box to give testimony incriminating Cyprian Karuri in the slaughter of Tomson Ndege ,53, in a crime of passion.

Ndege, 36,was stabbed in the chest severally by a stalker believed to be Karuri, a college staffer, shortly after he had emerged from the lodging with Moraa .

The two were out partying together at Pillars Bar in Mosocho,in Kitutu Chache South when Karuri lured the deacon into the shadows where he allegedly fatally stabbed him.

He died at Kisii Teaching and Referral Hospital of excessive bleeding.

The deacon was also deputy head teacher at Mecheo Secondary in Borabu, Nyamira County.

On Friday, Moraa and Karuri, the initial primary suspects in the murder were again hauled before resident magistrate Wa Kugwa Wahinya under miscellaneous application for murder.

The investigative officer handling the case said they had struck a deal for Moraa to witness against Karuri, also an Elgonview College driver.

“Following the talks with prosecution counse l Moraa would has agreed to be primary witness one,” the officer told the court to a no objection from the Magistrate.

He said they have already wound up the probe including taking statements.

The autopsy, he said, has also been completed.

Karuri would now remain in custody awaiting to face the murder charges.

The case comes up for plea taking on 18th, April,2023.
