Jubilation After CJ Koome Suspends Recruitment in Court of Appeal, Judges, Magistrates Says it was a Corrupt Process

Moments after Chief Justice Martha Koome-led Judicial Service Commission (JSC) suspended the recruitment of the court of appeal judges, jubilation and joy engulfed judges, magistrates and advocates, who revealed that the whole process was biased, hijacked by cartels and unfair.

Those who spoke to our team said that the JSC had preferred candidates who were just waiting to be handpicked.

” We have some judicial officers who had invited us for their celebration parties and they were already calling themselves court of appeal Judges. For us we had been invited for the interview to sanitize the process, we are very happy with the CJ’s decision,” said a Nairobi based high court Judge.

A female magistrate said that for a long time, JSC has been doing shoddy interviews where members of the bench are used to escort the prefered candidates who enjoy the support of “God Fathers” within the JSC.

” Our hands are tied, the level of corruption within the JSC is alarming, just like other members I’m very happy with the JSC decision to suspend the whole process,” another judge aware of the fishy ongoings stated.

City Lawyer Ahmed Nasir Abdullahi on his X handle called for the removal of the CJ and other Supreme court Judges over corruption allegations.

LSK President Faith Odhiambo also called on the removal of corrupt Judges within the Judiciary.

Many people who spoke to us lamented about the lack of accountability on the side of JSC. A source intimated to us that JSC need not do interviews. They would rather just handpick people. We are doomed!

In the recent past , the Chief Justice has found herself in trouble with a section of Azimio politicians who have accused her of imposing embattled President William Ruto on Kenyans.
