Police officers patrolling Kisii county have intercepted a consignment of cannabis sativa valued more than Sh11 million.
During the afternoon recovery, cops on active patrol spotted a white Toyota Prado with a suspected shipment moving towards Kilgoris town.
The authorities ordered the driver of the vehicle to halt, but he disregarded the instructions and drove away at breakneck speed, making a rapid U-turn back towards Kanyenye when he reached Magena.
When he realised he was being pursued by our men, he abandoned the vehicle near Metembe and fled on foot.
The vehicle was transported to Kenyeye Police Station, where a thorough check was carried out.
Six sacks and fifteen bales of cannabis sativa leaves totalling 379Kgs were discovered.
The illicit consignment and vehicle were all taken into police custody for further investigation.
