A city lawyer has been charged with hurling insults at a senior police officer after she was stopped from using the presidential staircase at the Kenyatta International conference Center during a church function.

Nancy Nangami Wafula appeared before Milimani Magistrate Eric Ondieki charged with hurling some unprintable words to the KICC police boss.

The 29-year-old advocate allegedly used abusive words by calling KICC OCS Catherine Otieno and Susan Misoi “umbwa stupid, useless and f… you,” with intent to provoke breach of peace.

She was also accused of resisting arrest, when the two police officers sought to apprehend her.

The charge sheet stated that Nangami was attending a Conference organized by Grace well ministries and was looking for washrooms. She intended to use the presidential staircase to access the washrooms.

The advocate who works at a city law firm was accused of trespassing into the restricted. The court heard that the area has been reserved for dignitaries, including the president.

The OCS was on patrol and stopped the advocate but instead of heeding the advice, she became defensive and started hurling insults.
