Royal Media Services (RMS) once again shone during the sixth edition of the Communications Authority’s KUZA Broadcasting Awards that were held on Friday in Nairobi.
RMS scooped four awards: Citizen TV won Gold for the People’s Choice award in the Favourite FTA TV category, while Ramogi TV won bronze in the same category.
In the Nairobi region broadcasting category, Royal Media Services won Gold for the Ubuntu award.
Radio Citizen also won Silver in the People’s Choice award for favourite radio. Radio Maisha won the favourite radio category while Radio 47 came in third.
Abel Mutua clinched the favourite online content creator award while Muchiri Mike and Crazy Kennar came in at second and third respectively.
The favourite pay TV service award went to GoTV while Star Times clinched the runner’s up position followed by DSTV.
Akili Kids was also feted for promoting the observance of children welfare in broadcasting services while the late Francis Wangusi received a post-humous award for “making a significant contribution to Kenya’s broadcasting industry.”
“Thanks to his leadership, Kenya gained recognition as a leader in the ICT space, receiving global acclaim for its groundbreaking ICT innovations. as a result of his leadership, Kenyans now enjoy the benefits brought about by ICT services,” said the Kuza Awards judges.
