Eastleigh businessman was on Monday charged before a Makadara court for allegedly assaulting a KRA officer when he reportedly requested his business documents.

Abdikarim Muhammud was accused that on March 11, in Kamukunji, he allegedly beat up Joel King’ori and occasioned him bodily harm.

Abdikarim faced a second charge that on the same dates and place, he unlawfully obstructed Joyceline Mugoiri, King’ori, and Lucky Musikote who are reportedly authorised KRA officers from undertaking their duties by failing to provide his business registration details.

The accused who was out on a police cash bail of Sh10,000 denied the charges before Makadara senior principal magistrate M. Njagi and requested lenient bond terms.

He was released on a cash bail of Sh50,000 and the case will be heard on October 3.

The prosecution intends to call six witnesses to testify in the case.
