Two bank officials accused of stealing Sh5 million car have been charged afresh by a Nairobi court.

George Ndeti and Cliff Nabwendo were accused that on dates between February 24, 2021, and August 20, 2021, at an unknown place within the country, jointly with others not before the court, conspired to steal a motor vehicle make Toyota Hiace white in colour valued at Sh 5.3M the property of Fabrice Boyi.

The two were charged afresh after the prosecution sought to add more counts of forging Cheque leafs against Ndeti.

The court was informed that allegedly Ndeti stole a Bank cheque leaf valued at Sh 1000 the property of Boyi.

He was further charged with attempting to steal Sh850,000 from Boyi’s account and also uttering forged Cheques against the law.

They denied the charges before Milimani senior principal Magistrate Bernard Ochoi and pleaded with the court to allow them to retain their previous cash bail.

On February 24, 2022, the two were first charged with motor vehicle theft.

They are alleged to have committed the offence between 2nd February and 20th August 2021 at an unknown place.

The court heard they committed the offence jointly with others, not before the court.

The two are also charged with stealing the said vehicle from Boyi on the same dates.

According to police, the complainant met the accused at the Stanbic Bank branch where he works.
