Former Kiss 100 presenter Shaffie Weru was hosted for an interview by Amina on NTV’s Trendshow where he opened up about his new job in the Nairobi County Government. Shaffie revealed that he met Governor Johnson Sakaja when the Kenya Kwanza coalition was formed in 2021.
Apparently, he was part of the Kenya Kwanza campaign team. He was doing the campaign strategy for Ruto alongside Dennis Itumbi and would meet Sakaja during campaigns when he was also campaigning for the gubernatorial seat.
” Sakaja did not just wake up and decide to give me the job. Our journey started when the Kenya Kwanza Coalition was formed in 2021,” he said. Shaffie said that after Sakaja clinched the gubernatorial, he continued working for him without a salary.
Shaffie claimed that he would report to the Governor’s office and work even without a salary. According to Shaffie, those working at Sakaja’s office can attest to this.
”I would show up at the Governor’s office and just work,” he added. His hardwork and sacrifice finally paid off after he was recently appointed to head the county events team for a period of five years.
He will be in charge of overseeing all outdoor and indoor events in the county. Before his official appointment, Shaffie had been organising events graced by the governor, the major one being Sakaja’s swearing-in event in August 2021.
