Locals within kisumu chased police officers from the patels round about as they pelted them with stones.
The officers left in a lorry and a landcruzier towards town as the locals followed them with stones casting anti Ruto slogans.
The locals had engaged the officer in a non stop running battles for two hours.
Already several people have been arrested.
Before they succeeded in sending away the officers, the residents engaged police in cat and mouse games as they try to repel the protestors from accessing the CBD.
The locals armed with stones, rungus and flings pelted the police with stones as police lobbied teargas at them.
At one point, police had to restock teargas canisters after the ones they had were all used.
However the locals remained adamant, from the different streets.
As the officers followed one group , towards the Star hospital route, another group from Kondele would emerge giving police a hard time.
One police officer was heard saying , ” Hii ndio ile kisumu tunskianga. Hawa ni watu wagani, hawachoki, as another responded, sasa hivi ndio wanakuanga”.
However the locals were shouting…”Brong those teargas, those are our taxes”, we are going nowhere we will sleep on the street as they continue to throw stones at the officers.
At some point on different occasions, the locals picked the thrown teargas canisters.. and threw them back at tye police officers”.
