Simbas Name Currie Cup Travelling Squad

The Kenya Rugby Union (KRU) has named its 33-man squad that will travel to South Africa for the Currie Cup 1st Division matches in April.

The team includes 12 players from the Kenya Cup winners Kabras RFC. Kenya will play nine games at the challenge, according to fixtures published by the competition organisers.

Simbas will begin their campaign on Saturday against Boland Kavaliers in Cape Town followed by a trip to Potchefstroom where they will face Leopards a week later.

Clashes against San Clemente Rhinos and Eastern Province will follow on April 15th and 29th respectively with two more matches scheduled for May.

The Kenyans’ final three fixtures will be held in Nairobi including a closing showdown against SWD Eagles on June 3.

Saturday’s opener will mark the start of Jerome Paarwater’s second tenure as Simbas head coach.
