Stop imposing candidate on Members, city lawyer Peter Wanyama urges Theuri as LSK campaign gears up

Renowned city Lawyer Peter Wanyama has kicked the campaign ball back to the door of Out-going President Eric Theuri urging him to stop imposing a candidate to LSK members.

Through his social media Page, Wanyama cautioned Theuri that his candidate was designated to fail terribly.

” I have many candidates who even know who Faith Odhiambo. So don’t impose her as your successor , Wachana na yeye members Wamunyowe bila Maji. Let her push and sell her own capabilities .Please don’t impose her. Don’t campaign for her. Members don’t want an imposed LSK President,” said Wanyama.

Wanyama is a Frontrunner in the race and as things looks like, he is likely to take over from Theuri.

He has intensify his campaign and vowed to fight for devolution of funds to branch level.

“Dear Colleagues Let me be sincere with you. As LSK President I will do what it takes to support LSK Branches and chapters. I will never never NEVER NEVER spend Kshs. 3. 2 m of your funds to go to a conference in Santorini Greece when advocates are suffering. How will I even justify the expenditure? Advocates are sleeping hungry and can’t afford a PC yet I go on a lavish trip ! NO WAY ! The Council MUST devolve funds to the branches as a matter of RIGHT. Branches should not be begging for money! ,” he said.

Wanyama has also vowed to improve the Prestige of advocates by weeding out fake advocates from the industry.

The election which is slated for February 22 will see a new council elected by lawyers to replace the current team led by president Eric Theuri whose two-year term is ending.

Wanyama will battle it out with: Faith Odhiambo, Caroline Kamende, Njoki Mboce and Berhard Ng’etich.

Wanyama is the Leading Constitutional Lawyer and the Managing Partner of Manyonge Wanyama & Associates Advocates.
