EXCLUSIVE; Kibera Magistrate Samson Temu wants KWS officers to pull up their socks in the war against poaching, Says serious investigation needed

A Nairobi Magistrates has poked holes on how KWS detectives are conducting their investigations in poaching related cases throughout the country.

A very concerned and disturbed Kibera Senior Principal Magistrate Samson Temu while addressing a detective from the KWS in court said  that alot has been ignored hence exposing wildlife to poachers.

He Further pointed out that some circumstances of arresting suspects were questionable and real suspects have colluding with the police to evade justice.

” Mr. Investigating officer, according to how you have testified today somethings are not adding up, where are owners of this elephant horns, i want to call upon you people to stop shoddy work and do serious investigations into the matter, we need to root out real poachers from the society, in many cases, we are seeing wrong  people being arraigned in court as real poachers continues with the vice outside there,” he questioned.

This comes after a Survey showed that cases of poaching increased to an alarming rate in 2023 due to poor investigations, corruption and lack of adequate placed measures.
