EXCLUSIVE; Senior Ford Kenya Official Resigns , Cites Wetangula’s Frustrations

Ford Kenya’s National Deputy Secretary for Trade, Tourism, Cooperatives and Enterprise Development Hon Hadadi Almasi Feisal has resigned from his position at the party.

Hadadi, who is a former nominated Member of the county assembly of Kilifi said he made the move following frustrations from the top national leadership of the party.

Until his resignation, he was also the party’s chairperson of Kilifi county and the deputy Secretary general of the National Ford kenya youth league.

Hon Hadadi has accused the party’s National  leadership of lacking direction since the last elections and failure to even call for meetings to plan for the party activities.

Ford Kenya Chairperson and Speaker of the National Assembly Moses Wetangula has been accused of controlling almost all activities of the party and sources reaching our desk indicates that more officials will be resigning in the coming days.

” Officials who stood by Speaker Wetangula are languishing in poverty, I am an official at the Party and as things stand the party’s existence  looks bad,” said an official.

Speaking to the reporters after his resignation yesterday, Hon Hadadi said most National officials of the party have lost hope and may soon follow his move.

The failure to create opportunities for people including the youths has dampened their spirits and cited the example of senior youth league officials whom he said are still jobless despite the party being a critical partner of the current Kenya Kwanza administration.

Hadadi said he will now concentrate on his Kilifi south constituency where he was Ford Kenya’s candidate in the last elections.

This move comes even as Hon. Wetangula faces stiff competition in his Western region backyard from Trans Nzoia governor George Natembeya who is saying the speaker has done nothing in terms of development in the region.
