A female Machakos University student has mysteriously died in Machakos County.
The first year student’s body was retreaved from a ditch within Machakos Township on Thursday night.
Machakos subcounty police commander Emmanuel Okanda said the incident happened at around 11.20pm Thursday and was reported to Machakos police station as a sudden death incident.
Okanda said the student is said to had left her rented house at Katoloni within Machakos Township for supper in a hotel in the area when the incident occurred.
“I confirm the student’s death, she had gone to take supper and she died,” Okanda told the Star at his office in Machakos town on Friday.
Okanda said the deceased’s body was retrieved from a ditch along Ilovia Street in Katoloni area.
He said it had no visible injuries when it was collected by police officers from the station.
“We have launched investigations into the incident,” Okanda said.
The police boss said the body had been moved to a mortuary within the county.
