Rogue Uasin Gishu county enforcement director charged over threat to kill magistrate

Uasin county director of enforcement Cosmas Kerich has been charged before a court in Eldoret with threatening to kill a magistrate.

Kerich is accused of threatening to kill Principal Magistrate Emily Kigen on October 17th last year.

He allegedly committed the offense at Eldoret Municipality Court No 6 within Turbo sub county.

He is alleged to have uttered the words ‘wewe mwanamke toka hapa tutakuua’.

Kerich denied the charges when he appeared before Senior Principal Magistrate Christine Menya.

He was remanded in custody until March 24th when his application for bond will be determined.

Magistrate Kigen is represented by lawyer Geoffrey Okara whole Kerich is represented by Elijah Momanyi.

Okara oppose bail application by the suspect on the grounds that the life of the magistrate was at risk.
