why Fred Arocho quit Radio Jambo

Veteran sports reporter, Fred Arocho has given reasons as to why he had to quit working at Radio Jambo.

The charismatic personality said that he was offered a good package by Radio 47 team adding that he also wanted growth and to step out of his comfort zone saying that at Radio 47, he is able to meet other reporters who are better in the sports field.

He further explained that,” At first quitting was not about money. Nilitaka place kuna changamoto zinaweza nipush and I also wanted a new environment where I could meet other reporters in the field.”

Speaking about his salary, the reporter disclosed that he is currently getting good pay and it’s way better compared to his previous work pay.

He did not reveal the actual amount but instead, he said, “Nihela sitasema, lakini ni pesa mzuri. I’m not getting one million but It’s past half a million,”

He added that “I have my own car, my own house, lakini wamenipa mfuko mzuri sana.

He went ahead to thank Radio Africa for the opportunity they gave him and how grateful he is for working for almost 14 years there.

This comes a week after the sports commentator revealed that he had quit working at Radio Jambo for Radio 47 in  a long Facebook post saying that;

“I cannot believe how time has flown, it’s now 14 yrs since I joined Radio Africa Group, a place I have made home. With great humility, I take this opportunity to formally thank the management for the confidence they bestowed on me while on air and to my fellow staff who made the place a wonderful family for me, Ahsanteni Sana!”

He also applauded  Carol Radul for helping him discover a side that he never knew existed.

In one of the Interviews, Arocho explained that his encounter with Carol Radul helped him get his first radio job and build a forte in football commentary.
